Theresa Butkovich, Director

Trained in the Cecchetti Method, Theresa Butkovich is a dancer and teacher. She holds the Maestro Cecchetti Diploma. She began her training with Rose Marie Floyd at age four, and studied with her for over 14 years in Royal Oak. As a student, she was awarded numerous scholarships demonstrating outstanding talent and was invited to attend the Royal Danish Ballet School. She continued to study ballet in New York with renowned teachers at the Joffrey Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, in England and Paris. Theresa has performed many prinicpal roles and danced with the Boston Ballet Company and the Contemporary Civic Ballet Company. Theresa currently teaches ballet and pilates.

Anne Daugherty

Anne began training with Mary Ellen Cooper (Cecchetti Method) at age 6 and studied ballet and modern dance in the Lansing area for nine years, with Cecchetti and non-Cecchetti teachers. She began studying with Rose Marie 22 years ago, and is a member of the Contemporary Civic Ballet Co. She has successfully passed Cecchetti grades 1-6 (Intermediate) as a student and grades 1-2 as a teacher. A member of the Michigan State University Dance Ensemble while in college; she performed and taught creative movement at Lansing-area elementary schools as part of a corps of six dancers. Anne performed throughout mid-Michigan with the Lansing Ballet Company for five years. She taught in the Lansing area for three years and taught locally with Warren’s Recreation Dance program for seven years. Anne began teaching children’s classes for Rose Marie in 2006.

Students range in age from 4 years old to adult. Classes often vary in ability.
The schedule follows the school year with classes beginning in September and running through June.

Ballet classes are held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Please see the payment rates and schedule for Winter 2008. (pdf file)

Pilates Mat Classes are offered on Thursdays and Saturdays.
